Is He Wrong?
Last week, Dwayne "Dog" Chapman from the reality TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter had a very disturbing conversation with one of his sons that leaked to the press. One of his sons is dating a black women, and Dwyane seems to find that unacceptable. He said to his son "Now if you continue to date her, your going to have to find another job, i'll help you find you, you just cant stay here. We say the word "nigger" a lot in this house, and i dont want no black women getting offended and trying to ruin my career and all that i have. Now i dont mean "nigger" in a bad way, i just mean it in a normal way". Ever since this leaked out, he has been aplogizing every chance he gets, but is he really wrong? People make racist comments all the time that does not get leaked out to the press. So is he wrong for having this conversation in the comfort of his own home?

Well, that seems to be a good question. Even though he was caught for this perticular instance of using the word "nigger" your can't really tell how many times he's said it before. He's even said that he uses the word constantly in his house. If he's punished for this should he also get punished for all the other times, since he has already admitted to it? No matter how you look at it, that word is used alot, mostly never getting reported in the media. If he is punished should everyone be punished. That questions brings up our 1st ammendment right to free speech.
I dont think that something that he says in the privacy of his own should effect his career. As long as he did not say it in public and to purposely hurt someone than i think that he is entitiled to his own opinion.
I just think that people are getting a little bit toooo nossy these days. Just because one person say's somthing in the privacy in his own home precautions are to be made? This only scares the citizens of the U.S to be to open minded in the place where they should feel safest.
I feel this man is awarded and has every right to excerise his rights awarded 2 him by the consitution.. he said this in a casual conversion 2 someone not to puruposely offend someone. i feel "The Dog" did nothing wrong here and A&E only cancelled his show to cover there butts so they dont lose tv ratings.
I agree with Naya on what she said. Using this derogatory word shouldn't effect this man's career if he's using this word in the comfort of your own home. So what if his son has a black girlfriend or is dating black women. This doesn't give him a reason to find another job for his son or put him out of the house. I mean come on its 07, why are people still acting like such imbeciles??? How exactly is da word nigger used in a "normal" way? I would just love to know the answer to that question.
